A seminar and practical workshop for physical education teachers from educational institutions across the Abai Region was held under the theme “Mas-Wrestling as a Traditional and Modern Sport: Practical Experience in Introducing and Developing Mas-Wrestling.”
The event aimed to promote mas-wrestling among schoolchildren and young people, encourage professional knowledge-sharing, and expand opportunities to integrate the sport into educational programmes.
During the seminar, participants explored the history and distinctive features of mas-wrestling, its fundamental rules, basic techniques, and tactical approaches. Particular attention was given to the practical application of knowledge, teaching methodologies, and ways to organize mas-wrestling activities in schools and other educational institutions.
Participants also discussed current approaches to developing the sport, the role of physical education teachers in encouraging children to participate in sports, and the importance of fostering an appreciation for traditional sporting heritage.
